The multi-use space was conceived by Zurich-based Müller Sigrist Architekten. The festival hall is both boxy and interesting with both austere and [colourfully illuminated interior areas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chroma-installation). It is built around a pentagon-shaped central festival hall, coloured in cheery yellow. Surrounding this central meeting space are outer layers that are like an onion. **Implications** - Capitalist societies have a fascination with [futuristic architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/helsinki-design-and-architecture-museum) as it evokes the ideals of efficiency and progress. As such, many architects are pushing the physical limitations of what is possible with building designs because they too hope their work will evoke these same ideals. Corporations can also incorporate futuristic designs elements into their product lines and services and yield similar results. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.6/10 - Popularity: 7% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Futuristic Architecture:** Architects are pushing the physical limitations of building designs to create futuristic structures. - **Efficiency and Progress:** Capitalist societies have a fascination with futuristic architecture as it evokes ideals of efficiency and progress. - **Incorporating Futuristic Designs:** Corporations can incorporate futuristic design elements into their product lines and services for similar results. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** The architecture industry has the opportunity to innovate by pushing the physical limitations of building designs to create futuristic structures. - **Construction:** In the construction industry, incorporating futuristic designs can lead to more efficient and visually appealing buildings. - **Technology:** The technology industry can contribute to futuristic designs by developing smart building materials and systems. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Copper Shell-Enclosed Museums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/copper-blockhouse.md) - [Chalet-Inspired Showrooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gstaad-house.md) - [Mirrored Facade Concert Halls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jzef-wider-state-music-school.md) - [Performance Hall Expansions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/powell-hall.md) - [Stone Building Auditoriums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/centre-de-congrs.md) - [Wave-Inspired Civic Halls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sail-congress-centre.md) - [Spiralling Stainless-Steel Cultural Centers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/010-building.md) - [Geometric Prefabricated Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/7-kiosks.md) - [Reflective Mountain-Based Shelters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelter-santerpass.md)
