# Miraged Mesh Armchairs The Ferrum and Aurum Designs by Dejana Kabiljo are Optically Illusive By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-06-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ferrum-and-aurum References: [cubeme](http://cubeme.com/blog/2013/06/03/ferrum-aurum-armchairs-by-dejana-kabiljo/) & [kabiljo](http://www.kabiljo.com/index.html) Named after the two popular elements iron and gold, the Ferrum and Aurum armchairs by Dejana Kabiljo present an illusive front with their [barely there construction](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zoom-chair). Made out of [mesh wires coiled together](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woven-chair-designs) in a [mirage-like silhouette](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moving-furniture) of a chair, this design appears to fade into atmosphere. While it seems like the particles of this armchair collection are vibrating far apart from each other, the construction is actually very solid and sturdy, offering an unusual setting for comfort and relaxation. The wiring acts the same way as a spring would, offering flexibility while supporting the weight place upon it as well. The Ferrum and Aurum armchairs designed by Dejana Kabiljo can be given decorative cushion covers that provide extra comfort and seem to float above the mass of interwoven wires. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Miraged Mesh Furniture:** Exploring the possibilities of using mirage-like silhouettes for furniture designs. - **Barely There Aesthetics:** Embracing barely there constructions and mesh designs for a unique visual appeal. - **Mesh Wires as Support:** Innovative use of mesh wires as durable support for furniture designs. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Industry:** These designs present a new and exciting opportunity to revolutionize seating in homes, offices or public areas. - **Interior Design Industry:** Miraged Mesh Furniture could be an artistic, minimalistic addition to interior design styles for hotels, residential homes and commercial areas. - **Spring and Wire Industry:** There’s a potential collaboration between spring and wire industry and furniture manufacturers to offer new and innovative designs for furniture. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wavy Lounge Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wavy-lounge-chair.md) - [Illusory Disconnected Component Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fly-armchair.md) - [Rope-Like Dynamic Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caterpillar-lounge.md) - [Marbles-Inspired Intricate Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shepherd-studio.md) - [Stainless Steel Reflective Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-view-chair.md) - [Ultra-Precise Woven Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woven-chair-design.md) - [Curvaceous Floating Illusion Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wave-collection-2.md) - [Circular Modernist Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zerogravity-chair.md) - [Shimmering Cantilevered Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/2023-shadow-chair.md)
