Creators Mike Lin (CEO) and Brian Warshawsky (COO) of [Fenix International](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/powerbank-flashlight) designed the ReadySet Solar Kit as a means to charge personal electronics such as the [iPad](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zens-4in1-modular-wireless-charger), cellular phone, radios, lights and more. Each kit comes with a ReadySet battery, 15-Watt solar panel, power adapter, 3-Watt LED light, two 12-volt car lighter adapter ports and two 5-volt USB ports. The idea steamed from the increasing amount of personal electronic devices in Africa and the lack of electrical outlets to charge said devices. Not only does the Fenix ReadySet Solar Kit provide clean renewable energy from solar panels, bicycle generators and micro-wind turbines, but each unit sold in the U.S. will go towards efforts to stop poverty in Africa. Mike and Brian started a [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/essential-camping-solar-tables) campaign to raise funds for the development of the Fenix ReadySet Solar kit -- these types of products are just the beginning of a cleaner future. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 33% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Renewable Energy Solutions:** The Fenix 'ReadySet' Solar Kit taps into the trend of using clean and renewable energy sources to power personal electronic devices. - **Off-grid Charging Solutions:** The Fenix 'ReadySet' Solar Kit addresses the need for charging personal electronic devices in areas with limited electrical outlets, presenting an opportunity for disruptive innovation in off-grid charging solutions. - **Sustainable Technology:** The Fenix 'ReadySet' Solar Kit embodies the trend towards sustainable technology by providing a green and supercharged solution for charging personal electronics. ### Where This Applies - **Renewable Energy Industry:** The Fenix 'ReadySet' Solar Kit is an example of disruptive innovation in the renewable energy industry, offering a portable and efficient charging solution. - **Consumer Electronics Industry:** The Fenix 'ReadySet' Solar Kit presents an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the consumer electronics industry, by creating charging solutions that are environmentally friendly and accessible in off-grid areas. - **Social Impact Industry:** The Fenix 'ReadySet' Solar Kit contributes to the social impact industry by using sales proceeds to support poverty alleviation efforts in Africa, demonstrating a disruptive approach to addressing global challenges. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Solar-Powered eBike Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beambike.md) - [Device-Charging Sun Hats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecoflow-power-hat.md) - [Solar-Powered Oral Care Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quip-solar-battery-charger.md) - [Roof-Mounted EV Charging Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gosun-sun.md) - [Origami-Inspired Solar Panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sego-innovations.md) - [Solar-Powered Charging Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-mars-bot.md) - [Essential Camping Solar Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/essential-camping-solar-tables.md) - [Solar-Ready Portable Power Banks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gosun-power-266.md) - [Portable Solar Generator Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jackery-solar-generator-3000-pro.md)
