The illustration looks absolutely beautiful and feminine but the trademark scars and traits of the male character have been adopted. Many illustrators and anime fans find it intriguing to wonder what their [favorite characters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anigenie) would look and be like if they were the opposite gender. This illustration proves that Sesshoumaru would look just as elegant with flowing white hair and a powerful stare -- the only question is, would she be just as ruthless or even worse? Trungtin art's transformation of Sesshoumaru only shows the face yet the subtle details of femininity make the new gender version obvious: more narrowed eyes, rouge lips, soft jaw line and higher cheekbones. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 55% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Gender-swapped Anime Art:** There is a growing interest in transforming beloved anime characters into their opposite gender version, offering new and intriguing visual interpretations. - **Exploring Feminine Versions of Male Characters:** Many illustrators and anime fans are fascinated by the idea of envisioning their favorite male anime characters as women, sparking creativity and new character design possibilities. - **Embracing Gender Fluidity in Anime Fan Art:** The creation of gender-swapped anime art allows for a celebration of gender fluidity and a reimagining of traditional gender roles in popular anime culture. ### Who This Affects Most - **Animation and Entertainment:** The animation and entertainment industry can capitalize on the trend of gender-swapped anime art by exploring new character designs, storylines, and merchandise opportunities. - **Fan Art and Illustration:** Artists and illustrators specializing in fan art have the opportunity to attract a larger audience by creating gender-swapped versions of popular anime characters. - **Cosplay and Costume Design:** The cosplay and costume design industry can tap into the trend of gender-swapped anime art by creating and selling gender-bending costumes and accessories for fans to embrace their favorite characters in a new way. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Demon Slayer Paint kit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Demon-Slayer-Paint-Kit.md) - [Anime Horror-Style Reimaginations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/junji-ito-artwork.md) - [Gaming-Inspired Anime Figures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gaminginspired-anime-figures.md) - [Artful Anime-Blending Split Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/split-bust.md) - [Anime-Inspired Mechanical Keyboard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eisa-k686-pro-se-anime-girl.md) - [Anime Character Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anigenie.md) - [Empowering AI Image Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/missjourney.md) - [Exclusive Anime-Themed Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exclusive-animethemed-collectible.md) - [Anime-Inspired Handmade Dolls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/culture-entertainment.md)
