# Plant-Growing Coffee Tables You Can Fill the Pot Section of this Coffee Table with Living Plants By Allen Taylor | Published 2014-03-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/feet-coffee-table References: [fancy](http://fancy.com/things/580917213708421313/Volcane-Feet-Coffee-Table?utm=timeline_featured) & [greeen-store](http://www.greeen-store.com/en/coffee-side-tables/9532-volcane-feet-coffee-table-storage-design.html) The Volcane Feet Coffee Table is much more than your average living room surface. The structure is made out of solid oak from sustainably managed French forests. The two surfaces are made from lacquered, medium-density fiber boards that have a sleek, smooth finish. What makes this [coffee table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polka-coffee-table) different from other ones out there is the [built-in planter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-4), in which you can plant whatever you want. It would be a perfect spot for a Bonsai tree you're working on or a small Lemon tree. If you don't feel like putting a plant in the dipped section of the table, get creative and fill it with some ice cubes and bubbly for your next party or fill it with water and have some [floating candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zen-collection-1) to add some ambiance to your living room. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 91% | Activity: 61% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Indoor Gardening Furniture:** There is a growing demand for furniture that incorporates plants, which presents opportunities for companies to create multipurpose furniture that can enhance indoor living spaces. - **Sustainable Furniture:** As consumers become more eco-conscious, there is a trend in sustainable furniture, which provides opportunities for companies to create furniture that is environmentally friendly while also being aesthetically pleasing and functional. - **Multipurpose Furniture:** The trend in multipurpose furniture provides companies an opportunity to create furniture that is both practical and space-saving, which is attractive for urban dwellers. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing Industry:** The furniture manufacturing industry can capitalize on the trend of incorporating plants into furniture design by creating more innovative and practical furniture pieces that incorporate planters or gardening features. - **Green Interior Design Industry:** As consumers demand more environmentally friendly and sustainable living spaces, green interior design companies can provide furniture options that also incorporate indoor gardening features. - **Home and Garden Industry:** The home and garden industry can expand by providing customers with curated furniture collections that incorporate indoor gardening features, which will attract urban customers with a desire for practical and aesthetically pleasing living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Topographical Recycled Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/two-coffee-tables.md) - [Volcanically Inspired Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magma-coffee-table.md) - [Solid-Ash Wooden Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boia.md) - [Artful Coffee Table Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertushka.md) - [Fluid Topographic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-table.md) - [Curvaceous Animalistic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookpet-coffee-table.md) - [Topographic Wooden Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/topographic-coffee-table.md) - [Integrated Planter Worktables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantable-office.md) - [Multifunctional Living Room Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aliving-coffee-table.md)
