Feathered Edge is a mesmerizing art installation made up of a whopping 21 miles of cut and colored twine--3,604 individual pieces, to be exact. The Feathered Edge installation was digitally planned out and then made by hand. Commissioned by the [Museum of Contemporary Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tang-wing) in Los Angeles, California, it cascades down from a ceiling in the building. As delicate and colorful as the edfe of a bird's feather, it is not surprising why it was named after one.

Created by artists Benjamin Ball and Gaston Nogues of Ball-Nogues Studio, the Feathered Edge art installation is soft and flowy, like a summer breeze. According to the artists, Feathered Edge "explores our desire to alter a space with [fluid architectural forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piloti-canopy) that require a minimal use of material."
