These sculptures by artist Kate MccGwire may inspire more terror than awe. Each uses [bird feathers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flutterbox) to create almost [abstract shapes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes) -- almost, because they definitely resemble coiled-up snakes.

Most of these feather sculptures by Kate MccGwire are encased in a glass box. One standalone piece takes over an entire room. The feather sculptures were photographed by Francis Ware, JP Bland and Tessa Angus.

**Implications** - For the millions of consumers living the metropolitan life, finding time to appreciate nature is difficult. Products that bring this element into a buyers home is a great way to appeal to this demographic. In doing so, companies will fulfill this need for aspects of the outdoors and have an edge over their competitors.
