# Whimsical Fawn Portraits This Fawn Photo Series is Sweet and Poignant By Farida Helmy | Published 2014-06-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fawn-photo-series References: [inspirationhut.net](http://inspirationhut.net/inspiration/inspirational-photography-by-emmy-lee/) & [flickr](https://www.flickr.com/photos/52619846@N06/) There is something utterly adorable and sweet about this fawn photo series. The whole idea of this series was to be a photo diary of the journey the photographer had with her adopted fawn and all the [whimsical things](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fable-lantern) they embarked on together -- the series shows the duo looking more like mother and daughter then owner and pet. The set of [dreamy images](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frankies-bikinis-keepsakes-collection) were captured by self-portrait photographer Emmy Lee—who is also the star of the series with her super cute fawn. The photographer adopted the orphaned fawn when it was a day old and decided to work on the fawn photo series as both an artistic statement and a lovingly personal project. “I can’t believe that little ear-sucking fawn that used to sleep in my arms is almost 5 months old. Nostalgia’s starting to kick in,” says Lee. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 44% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Whimsical Photography Series:** Creating photo series that capture the beauty and whimsy of unlikely companions can resonate with audiences and create emotional connections. - **Animal Adoption Projects:** Using photography to raise awareness for animal adoption and to highlight the bond between humans and animals can be a powerful way to promote compassion and empathy. - **Self-portrait Photography:** Exploring self-expression and personal narratives through self-portrait photography can offer unique perspectives and storytelling opportunities. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** The photography industry can embrace and support the creation of unique and emotionally-driven photo series like this one. - **Animal Rescue and Adoption:** The animal rescue and adoption industry can utilize creative photography projects to showcase the bond between humans and animals and encourage adoption. - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can find inspiration in creative self-portrait photography and explore different ways to convey personal narratives and emotions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Adorable Holiday Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burberrys-holiday-campaign.md) - [Custom Pet Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portrait-mom.md) - [Whimsical Childlike Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-eternal-child.md) - [Almost-Extinct Animal Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fauna-series.md) - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [Personal Nostalgic Photo Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holy-ohio.md) - [Chalk Streams Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/british-conceptual-landscape-photographer.md) - [AI-Enhanced Pet Adoption Photos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personality-pics.md) - [Spooky Charming Pet Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crown-paw.md)
