# Buckled Bean Bags The Fatboy Buggle-up Ensures that People Stay Comfortably Upright By Meghan Young | Published 2014-04-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fatboy-buggleup References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/007749.html) & [fatboy](http://www.fatboy.com/nl/bean-bags/buggle-up) As comfortable as [bean bag chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transparent-bean-bag) are marketed to be, sometimes their uber malleable form is anything but; the Fatboy Buggle-up provides a little more structure to ensure that is not the case. It could have easily been dubbed 'buckle up' since the ends of the Fatboy Buggle-up are fitted with buckles that fold the bean bag up to ensure the sitter has a [comfortable backrest to lean against](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yay-chair). Available in a slew of vibrant colors, the Fatboy Buggle-up can be folded width wise to create a roomy seat for one or length wise for a cosy space for two. Effortlessly changeable, it also boasts tough fabric that can withstand UV rays, water and dirt. Overall, the Fatboy Buggle-up is a great alternative to [traditional seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-perron-bun). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 15% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Structured Bean Bags:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a line of bean bags with built-in structures to provide more support and comfort. - **Convertible Seating:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design versatile seating options that can be easily transformed to accommodate different seating arrangements. - **Durable Outdoor Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop outdoor furniture with fabrics that are resistant to UV rays, water, and dirt for long-lasting durability. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Rethink traditional furniture designs to offer more innovative and versatile seating solutions. - **Outdoor Recreation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create innovative and durable outdoor furniture solutions to enhance the comfort and convenience of outdoor activities. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new materials and designs to create functional and stylish seating options for homes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multi-Position Beanbag Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/revolve-chair.md) - [Multifunctional Beach Backpacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bumruk.md) - [Structural Beanbag Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brace-lounge.md) - [Bohemian Bean Bag Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sage-x-clare-camarillo-bean-bag.md) - [Cozy Wearable Bean Bags](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wearable-bean-bag.md) - [Inflatable Tote-Style Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bag-sofa.md) - [Legless Floor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bold-chair.md) - [Smart Bulbous Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buffo.md) - [Comforting Adaptable Sofa Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baby-bird-reincarnation-3way-sofa-bed.md)
