Fatal Attraction is a collection of close-up images of the Portuguese man-of-war, an organism closely related to [jellyfish](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pharrell-williams-and-adidas-originals) that is admired for it vibrant and intricate bodily patterns and feared for the excruciatingly painful sting it inflicts. Retired [US Navy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/navy-officer) combat photographer Aaron Ansarov captures the images of these fascinating creatures washed up on a beach in Florida.

The photographs reveal the true nature of these beautiful yet fearsome deep-sea stinging creatures at close range with a perspective that isn't quite attainable via the naked human eye alone.

The Fatal Attraction series was recently highlighted by [National Geographic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unnatural-history-museum-of-singapore). Ansarov's work is also currently being highlighted at the Mark K. Wheeler Gallery at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in Florida.
