Orange is the hot color for Spring 2009, both in fashion and automotive design. The skies of darkness on the winter runways have opened up, revealing the happy color of fruit, flames and cars.
As our chief Trend Hunter Jeremy Gutsche noted on this week’s ‘Fashionista Exotica’ episode of Trend Hunter TV, Marco Morosini, the designer for Ferrari, “...could not be on the cutting edge of automotive design if he was not also on the cutting edge of fashion.”
So, with the launches of the hot orange 2010 Chevy Camaro, Mexican Mastretta, 2009 Dodge Challenger and the single wheeled ‘Uno’ motorcycle, fashion is mirroring the sizzling color of fire.
Orange has been in the spring collections of many designers like Gucci, Hussein Chalayan, Christopher Kane, Ossie Clark, Dior, Galliano, Nina Ricci, Jaeger London and Ralph Lauren.
