It refers to the dramatic reaction that one has when they encounter the object of their affection, either in sighting or mention. A "fangirling" episode usually involves a shortness of breath, erratic fluttering of the hands, high-pitched squealing and, in the worst-case scenario, full-body convulsions. Of course, this reaction only refers to amateur fangirls. Professional Fangirls don't give in to these knee-jerk physical responses. You can identify the Professional Fangirl by her diluted pupils, scary-calm demeanor and steely, almost militant, resolve to meet and/or marry her personal hero. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 18% | Activity: 12% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/fashion) > [Hip Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/hipfashion) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Hilarious Fangirl T-shirts:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a line of unique and funny fangirl t-shirts to cater to the growing market of dedicated fans. - **Amateur Vs Professional Fangirling:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a platform or community that educates and differentiates between amateur and professional fangirls, offering tips, resources, and networking opportunities. - **Identifying Professional Fangirls:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design and market a product or service that helps identify and connect with professional fangirls, such as a special membership badge or exclusive event invitations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Fashion and Apparel:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate technology into fangirl apparel, such as LED lights or interactive elements, to enhance the fan experience. - **Entertainment and Pop Culture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop virtual fan experiences or augmented reality tools that allow professional fangirls to interact with their favorite celebrities or fictional characters in a more immersive way. - **Social Networking and Communities:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a digital platform or app specifically for professional fangirls to connect, share experiences, and collaborate on fan-focused projects. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Enchanting Classic-Animation-Inspired Jewelry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/girls-crew.md) - [Sports-Fan-Inspired Beauty Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eyes-lips-face-fandom.md) - [Bold Anime-Inspired Streetwear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/geeks-rule-hellsing.md) - [Anime-Inspired Collectible Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fangamer.md) - [Glamorous Sports Collabs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glamnetic-x-fanatics-collection.md) - [Viral Criminal Merchandise](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/i-can-fix-him.md) - [Film-Inspired Graphic Apparel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-dark-knight-collection.md) - [Dark Vampire-Series Apparel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vampire-slayer-collection.md) - [Cult Film-Inspired Graphic Tees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/capsule-tee.md)
