The apartment has deep blue panels that cover up various features, making it feel as though the occupant is in completely different spaces depending on whether they're open or closed. Fala Atelier's panels cover the kitchen, wardrobe, and bathroom entrance of the [small studio apartment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabanon). Similar panels also act as shutters for the windows, keeping light out of the living room cum bedroom space. By segmenting all these areas, the studio is more modular than it would be were they all left exposed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Modular Living Spaces:** Fala Atelier's use of panels to segment different areas of the apartment demonstrates a trend towards modular living spaces. - **Concealed Design:** The use of deep blue panels to conceal various features in the apartment reflects a trend towards concealed design in interior spaces. - **Hybrid Functionality:** The apartment's ability to transform into different spaces depending on whether the panels are open or closed highlights a trend towards hybrid functionality in small living spaces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** The concept of concealed design and modular living spaces presents an opportunity for innovation and disruption in the interior design industry. - **Smart Home Technology:** Developing smart systems that can seamlessly integrate with concealed design features and enable the transformation of living spaces could be a disruptive innovation in the smart home technology industry. - **Sustainable Architecture:** Exploring sustainable materials and construction methods to create modular and concealed living spaces can drive disruptive innovation in the sustainable architecture industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bright Colorful Converted Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/so-sebastio-123.md) - [Warehouse-Transformed Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-many-faces.md) - [Curved Surface Portuguese Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-house-within-a-few-lines.md) - [Housing Block Defensive Facades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bureau-des-mesarchitecture.md) - [Multifunctional Small Studio Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-mescla.md) - [Vibrant Milanese Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/milanese-apartment.md) - [Fold-Out Furniture London Flats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/florin-court-flat.md) - [Timeless Comfortable Bright Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lvia-leite.md) - [Coastal Town-Inspired Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arriba-apartment.md)
