# Fake Raindrop Fixtures The Rain Shade Brings the Wet Outdoors Into Your Home By Tisah Tucknott | Published 2009-08-05 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fake-raindrops-rain-shade References: [inewidea](http://www.inewidea.com/2009/07/24/8445.html#more-8445) If you’re as intrigued about raindrops as I am, then you’ll consider the Rain Shade a must-have. The [falling raindrops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rain-experience) are fake and can be attached to any ceiling surface. The [unique home decoration](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vindow) brings the outdoors inside and may startle guests as they see it raining in your living room. The blobs of water hang from individual threads on the Rain Shade, and create a beautiful setting. Perhaps it’s because I’m from the rainy West Coast, but I will embrace water droplets any day, fake or real. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 33% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Indoor Raindrop Decor:** The trend of raindrop decor can be expanded to include fixtures that simulate the sensation of rain indoors. - **Artificial Outdoor Elements:** Incorporating artificial outdoor elements into indoor spaces offers a new avenue for creative home decor options. - **Weather-inspired Home Decor:** Designs inspired by natural weather phenomena, such as rain, offer unique and captivating decor options. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** The Rain Shade highlights opportunities for home decor companies to expand their product lines with weather-inspired decorations. - **Architecture:** Incorporating artificial outdoor elements into indoor spaces may offer new opportunities to meld architecture with nature. - **Entertainment:** Incorporating raindrop decor into event and entertainment design can create unique and memorable experiences for guests. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mesmerizing Glass Pendants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-dew-pendant.md) - [Rainwater Multifunctional Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/raindrop-1.md) - [Umbrella-Resembling Playful Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rain-man-lamp.md) - [Light-Equipped Outdoor Sun Covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/led-starry-night-sun-shade.md) - [Rainy Day-Inspired Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candle-for-rainy-days.md) - [Chandelier-Shaped Self-Watering Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/selfwatering-vase.md) - [Soothing Rain Simulation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rain-screen.md) - [Dreamlike Bubble-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airshape-lamp.md) - [Water Movement-Inspired Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripple-light.md)
