# Fake Infestations Helen Nodding Gives an Abandoned Studio a Buggy Story Line By Shelby Lee Walsh | Published 2009-06-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fake-infestations-helen-nodding References: [storiesfromspace](http://storiesfromspace.co.uk/data/html/menu.html) This critter project by Helen Nodding is enough to make anyone get the itches. The installation titled, ‘The Avengers: Wild Animals I Have Known’ took place at an [abandoned East London studio](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/faraday-cage). Nodding’s back-story regarding this art piece is that the battered building was “about to be knocked down by some mean developers so some sneaky bugs crept in out of the woodwork in a bid to try and stop them…” She obviously has quite the imagination… ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 13% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Artistic Installations:** Opportunity for artists to create immersive experiences and tell stories through installations. - **Urban Decay:** Opportunity to repurpose abandoned spaces for creative and alternative uses. - **Interactive Art:** Opportunity to engage audiences through interactive and participatory art installations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** Innovation in art and design industry with new mediums and approaches to storytelling. - **Real Estate:** Innovation in real estate industry with creative solutions for repurposing abandoned spaces. - **Entertainment and Events:** Innovation in entertainment and events industry with immersive and interactive experiences for audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [Folk Creature Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fibredog.md) - [Bug-Inspired Jewelry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/murder-hornet-ring.md) - [Insect-Inspired Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-bronze-sculptures.md) - [Felt-Made Novelty Shops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bourdon-street-chippy.md) - [Fungi-Inspired Multidisciplinary Art Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-void.md) - [Thought-Provoking Interactive Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antibodies-installation.md) - [Inflatable Vibrant Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer.md) - [Warped Georgian Townhouse Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-week-at-the-knees.md)
