# Fairytale Homicides Julia Murakami's Miniature Murderous Dioramas By Cowbag | Published 2009-01-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fairy-tale-murders-julia-murakami-miniature-murderous-dioramas References: [whokilledbambi](http://www.whokilledbambi.co.uk/?p=1399) & [auvi-et-diversum.de](http://www.auvi-et-diversum.de/A_Kuenstlergalerien/juliagalerie/index.html) These have both strong childlike and gory (especially Little Red Riding Hood) aspects which makes them really strong and eerie pieces. They are called 'Anatomy of a Fairy Tale,' and they're from Julia Murakami. I love subversive and dark fairytale interpretations and dark and twisted dioramas too. Therefore, in my eyes, this collection of pieces are simply awesome. A little more gore would have been nice, but the existing details are amazing. **Implications** - I have to admit I never thought I would see fairytale and homicides in the same sentence, but the title just seemed to perfectly sum up Julia Murakami's Miniature Murderous Dioramas! I cant wait to see more work for Murakami! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Dark Fairytale Art:** Opportunity to create subversive and eerie fairytale interpretations through various mediums such as paintings, sculptures or installations. - **Gory Miniature Dioramas:** Opportunity to create twisted and graphic dioramas that showcase evocative stories. - **Horror Pop Culture Mashup:** Opportunity to merge different genres and create a new kind of horror that combines familiar cultural references with the macabre. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** Artists and designers can explore dark and subversive themes to create unique and evocative pieces that appeal to a niche audience. - **Entertainment:** Media companies can explore adapting popular fairytales into horror stories for TV shows, movies or video games. - **Toy and Collectibles:** Toy and collectibles companies can create miniature dioramas that depict dark and twisted stories that appeal to collectors of horror-related merchandise. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Storybook-Inspired Fragrances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mischief-academy.md) - [Anime Horror-Style Reimaginations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/junji-ito-artwork.md) - [Charming Creepy Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deddy-bears.md) - [Equitable Fairy Tale Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fair-tales-by-odeabank.md) - [Hyper-Realistic Flesh Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/junji-ito.md) - [Whimsical Harlequin-Patterned Décor Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alices-adventures-collection.md) - [Whimsical Childlike Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-eternal-child.md) - [Whimsical Halloween Decor Ranges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/michaels-alices-adventures-collection.md) - [Fairytale-Inspired Beauty Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fairytales-collection.md)
