# Metallic Malleable Dishware The Facetat Serving Dish is a Bowl Molded From a Geometric Sheet By Nikki Taylor | Published 2012-10-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/facetat-serving-dish References: [bforbel](http://www.bforbel.com/2012/10/futuristic-flexible-serving-dish.html) & [andreucarulla](http://www.andreucarulla.com/portfolio/facetat/) The Facetat serving dish is a flexible geometric metal plate that is able to be manipulated into different shapes. This highly futuristic dish appears like several connected triangles when laid out flat on a hard service. It looks like a grid of mathematical shapes that are able to reflect your image back at you. These shapes then get dismantled and molded into a galactic bowl that is able to hold small solid portions of food. The Facetat serving dish was made by a young Spanish designer by the name of Andrea Carulla. Due to the nature of how the dish is made from a flat piece of reflective bendable metal, the bowl is able to be customized in many different styles. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 27% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Flexible Metal Dishes:** Design and manufacture flexible metal dishware that can be manipulated into various shapes for customizable usage. - **Geometric Tableware:** Create tableware products that feature geometric shapes for enhanced design and aesthetics. - **Reflective Serveware:** Incorporate reflective materials into serveware for an added visual effect and unique dining experience. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Goods:** Manufacture and sell flexible, geometric, and reflective dishware for household use. - **Catering and Events:** Provide customizable dishware options for catering and event companies to enhance the visual experience of dining. - **Interior Design:** Incorporate the use of geometric, flexible, and reflective dishware into interior design projects for added visual impact. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Ceramic Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/office-of-tangible-spaces.md) - [Revived Mid-Century Serveware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tortugaware.md) - [Reusable Folding Storage Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calzone-tableware.md) - [Flat-Packed Sleek Dish Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aurea.md) - [Sculptural Flatware Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carrousel-flatware.md) - [Zero Gravity-Dining Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zero-microgravity.md) - [Removable Plate Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gere-multifunctional-crockery-shelf.md) - [Multifunctional Kitchen Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/latticeboard-multipurpose-kitchen-board.md) - [Artful Meticulous Tableware Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tableware-collections.md)
