# Firewood Furniture Mark Moskovitz's Facecord Cabinet is Perfect for Your Summer Cottage By Meghan Young | Published 2011-05-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/facecord-cabinet References: [bookofjoe](http://www.bookofjoe.com/2011/05/facecord-cabinet.html) & [fiftytwothousand](http://www.fiftytwothousand.com/) Sometimes it could b a lot of fun to surround yourself with deceptive items such at the Facecord cabinet. Although it is actually a [functional piece of furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabinet), it also happens to look like a pile of firewood. Created by Cleveland-based designer Mark Moskovitz, the Facecord cabinet recently made its debut at [The Future Perfect](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/goldwyn-guest-house) during the 2011 International Contemporary Furniture Fair, which was held in New York City. I'm sure that this stunning design was the talk of the fair, that's for sure. Although I can't see the Facecord cabinet working for every living space, it would certainly bring a bit of nature inside for those who want that special touch. It would also fit perfectly in a cottage setting. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 37% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Deceptive Furniture Design:** Opportunity to create functional furniture that mimics unconventional objects and brings a unique aesthetic to living spaces. - **Nature-inspired Interior Decor:** Opportunity to incorporate natural elements and textures into home design for a more organic and calming ambiance. - **Multifunctional Furniture:** Opportunity to design furniture that serves multiple purposes, maximizing space and functionality in smaller living areas. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can explore innovative and unconventional designs to create unique and eye-catching pieces. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can integrate nature-inspired elements and textures to create a calming and visually interesting environment. - **Cottage Rental:** Cottage rental businesses can enhance the overall experience by offering furniture that blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings, providing a rustic and cozy atmosphere. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Forest-Inspired Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hayashi-cabinet.md) - [Felled Tree Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ptacek-home-chunk-line.md) - [Wilderness-Inspired Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/habitat-collection.md) - [Cabinet-Concealed Modern Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/obelisk-3.md) - [Sandbox-Like Modular Storage Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-storage-cabinet1.md) - [Minimal Four-Legged Wooden Cabinets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exposure-cabinet.md) - [Unique Burl-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/don-heston-studio.md) - [Wood-Mimicking Furniture Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stool-and-table.md) - [Curvaceous Storage-Packed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/embrace-sideboard.md)
