Photographer Fabrice Monteiro's 'The Prophecy' collection warns audiences of the consequences of environmental damage.

The images portray the African landscape in a rather apocalyptic tone, dressing each model in [theatrical garments made of garbage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shearling-style-hat). Models are turned into larger-than-life creatures or monsters, meant to be fictional and exaggerated. Many of the garments worn by the models were actually sourced in garbage-ridden areas.

The frightening garbage-creatures pose triumphantly in various parts of Africa to depict a [dystopian view of the world](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-future-is-not-set). Essentially, Monteiro is suggesting that the environmental damage we are inflicting on the Earth will one day prove to have deadly consequences. Although the monsters are only metaphors, they are a frightening reminder of how much waste the world actually produces.
