The unique Less Mess Happy Mat forms a smiling face that has several pockets for [segmenting different parts of a meal](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermal-serving-dish). While this is common to many kiddie food trays, what really sets this design apart is its use of flexible [FDA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/duck-duck-books)-approved high-quality silicone, which forms a suction seal to the surface of a table to prevent kids (or adults) from accidentally knocking over a serving of food. Pre-meal, the unique mat can be placed in the microwave for heating. Post-meal, the unique mat can be tossed in the dishwasher for an easy clean-up. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Youth](https://www.trendhunter.com/youth) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Flexi-silicone Tableware:** Exploring more innovative uses of silicone material for tableware to address common frustrations for parents and caregivers. - **Suction-seal Kitchenware:** Developing kitchenware designs with suction-seal technology to prevent spills and messes during mealtime. - **Child-friendly Dishware:** Creating more child-friendly designs for dishware to make mealtime a fun and exciting experience for kids while keeping messes at bay. ### Who This Affects Most - **Houseware:** Innovating new houseware designs that incorporate suction-seal technology and flexible silicone material to make mealtime less messy and more fun for families. - **Childcare:** Designing innovative child-friendly dishware for daycare centers, schools, and parents to improve hygiene and reduce messes during mealtime. - **Food Service:** Integrating suction-seal kitchenware into the food service industry, such as fast food chains and hotels, to improve dining experience and reduce service delays caused by spills and messes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Table Manners-Teaching Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baby-tableware.md) - [Coordinated Children-Focused Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tableware-bundle-for-children.md) - [Reusable Folding Storage Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calzone-tableware.md) - [Cup-Integrated Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pairingware.md) - [Kid-Focused Meal Containers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/b-box.md) - [Mess-Avoiding Dipping Dishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dipidup.md) - [Chic Stackable Tableware Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tableware-ecosystem.md) - [Spill-Proof Kibble Bowls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kibble-katcher.md) - [Eco-Friendly Kids Lunchware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/duck-duck-books.md)
