A [kinetic sculpture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/library-of-light) in Istanbul has been created using thousands of used eyeglass lenses. This work of art is both visually appealing and vision-aiding as it raises awareness about the services provided by the [Canadian Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centre](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heat-stress) (CLERC), where the [recycled lenses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artsy-eyewear-collection) came from. This center recycles as many lenses as possible to provide glasses for people around the world who are vision-impaired. Those used in this project were unusable for varying reasons.

Featured on the front of the Pera Museum in Istanbul, the art installation looks like a giant shimmering surface, mimicking the effect of reflected light on the surface of the sea. The Sea/See/Saw installation was designed by Caitlind Brown and Wayne Garrett. Attracting the interest of those with impaired vision or 20/20, this compelling installation speaks to creative artists, avid recyclers or every day eyeglass wearers alike.
