# Seeing With Your Tongue Eye Candy By Elit Alice | Published 2008-09-04 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eye-candy-see-with-your-tongue References: [elitalice](http://www.elitalice.com/2008/09/03/eye-candy/) & [eyecandycan](http://www.eyecandycan.com/) Do you like candy? Then read on. Is your life an emotional rollercoaster? Then relax... with a Sensory Substitution Technology candy. Eye Candy is a very special kind of candy. Let me quote the [website](http://www.eyecandycan.com/), *"Each of your senses sends information to the brain at a different frequency. The brain determines where the sensorial information it receives comes from by the frequency at which it resonates, it can then process it in the appropriate way."* So that's what this candy does. It sends information to the brain on the same frequency the eyes do. That’s why, when you put **Eye Candy** on your tongue, you see images in your head. Apparently. It is available in six flavors, depending on what you want to ’see’. You can choose from a relaxing fish, a socializing star and a meditative circle, amongst other images. This is unbelievable, fascinating and scary at the same time. I want one for Christmas. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 25% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Bizarre](https://www.trendhunter.com/bizarre) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Sensory Substitution Technology:** Utilizing technology to replace or augment sensory experiences, such as using candy to stimulate visual perception. - **Multi-sensory Experiences:** Creating products that engage multiple senses simultaneously, like Eye Candy which combines taste with visual imagery. - **Neurological Interface:** Exploring ways to directly connect sensory information to the brain, opening up possibilities for new experiences and perceptions. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Food and Beverage:** Developing innovative food products that go beyond taste to engage other senses and enhance the overall sensory experience, like Eye Candy. - **Healthcare:** Applying sensory substitution technology in medical settings to assist individuals with sensory impairments or provide therapeutic treatments. - **Entertainment:** Developing immersive and interactive experiences that stimulate multiple senses, like incorporating sensory substitution technology into virtual reality games or amusement park attractions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Virtual Flavor Simulators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taste-in-virtual.md) - [Precisely Made Edible Earbuds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candy-airpods.md) - [Sensory Recalibration Desserts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/opaque-ice-cream.md) - [Celebratory Audio Lollipops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tastysounds-audiolollipop.md) - [Multisensory Television Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taste-the-tv.md) - [Gummy Functional Candies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tandy.md) - [Candy-Scented Sensory Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sloomoo-x-hichew.md) - [Edible Slime Candies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slime-candy.md) - [Multisensory Chocolate Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fortnum-mason-and-otherway.md)
