# Futuristic Carbon Fiber Pianos The Exxeo Hybrid Piano Sports a Sculpture-Like Aesthetic By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2019-06-21 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exxeo-hybrid-piano References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2019/06/21/this-carbon-fiber-hybrid-piano-has-a-built-in-battery-and-looks-wow/) & [exxeo.co](https://www.exxeo.co/) The Exxeo Hybrid Piano has been designed as a futuristic update to the classic piano silhouette that makes use of an unlikely material to achieve a flowing, sculpture-like look. Crafted from [carbon fiber](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carbon-fiber-mechanical-keyboard), the piano has a sculpted aesthetic that would be perfect for conveying a sense of drama if integrated onto a stage for [live performances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oura-series). The flexible material helps to give the piano a fluid design, but also makes it inherently durable and allowing it to resist high levels of moisture for seamless placement on cruise ships or even yachts. The Exxeo Hybrid Piano is the design work of Iman Maghsoudi of EXXEO and is the winner of the A’ Design Award for 2019. The unit also features an advanced [soundboard speaker system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-soundbar-speaker) and a built-in battery that enables it to provide up to 20 hours of use. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 43% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Carbon Fiber Pianos:** Leveraging carbon fiber in piano design unlocks the potential for sleek, durable, and moisture-resistant instruments with a dramatic, sculpted aesthetic. - **Fluid Design:** The use of flexible materials in piano construction allows for the creation of instruments with a fluid and dynamic design, perfect for enhancing live performances. - **Hybrid Technology:** The integration of advanced soundboard speaker systems and built-in batteries in pianos opens up opportunities for longer playing time and enhanced sound quality. ### Who This Affects Most - **Music Instrument Manufacturing:** The music instrument manufacturing industry can explore carbon fiber as a innovative material to create cutting-edge pianos that offer durability, modern aesthetics, and resistance to moisture. - **Performing Arts and Entertainment:** The performing arts and entertainment industry can benefit from pianos with fluid designs that add visual impact to live performances and create a unique experience for audiences. - **Music Education and Entertainment Equipment Rental:** The music education and entertainment equipment rental industry can provide hybrid pianos with advanced speaker systems and built-in batteries, offering longer playing time and superior sound quality to musicians and performers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Touchscreen Grand Pianos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/porochista.md) - [Stealthy Rare Wooden Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torch-t01.md) - [Collaboration Piano Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/concept-model-piano.md) - [Digital Motion-Sensing Pianos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roli-piano.md) - [Digital HD Display Pianos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mozart-console-piano.md) - [3D-Printed Carbon Cellos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/3dprinted-carbon-cello.md) - [Radical Majestic Instrument Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ravenchord.md) - [Hexagonal Music Composition Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/music-composition-keyboard.md) - [Eco-Friendly Digital Pianos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ddp80-digital-piano.md)
