# Protective Extension Cords The 'Rolling Snake G1' Extension Cable Reel Stores and Protects Cables By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2017-02-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/extension-cable-reel References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2017/02/09/power-on-a-roll/) The vast majority of extension cables on the market will offer a way to extend electrical capabilities and not much else, so the 'Rolling Snake G1' extension cable reel is intended to change this. The 'Rolling Snake G1' works by coiling the equipment up in a compact unit that makes it easy to transport it to and from various different locations. When it's needed, the 'Rolling Snake G1' rolls out the extension cord in a protective snake sleeve that ensures it will lay flat on the ground and be visible at all times. This helps deter the occurrence of people tripping over it or from damage. The 'Rolling Snake G1' extension cable reel is the design work of Emami Design and features a waterproof aesthetic that is safe to use indoors and out. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Protective Extension Cables:** Opportunity to integrate protective features into traditional extension cable design - **Compact Transportation Devices:** Innovative products that make it easier to transport equipment - **Smart Cable Management:** Developing cable management devices with intelligent features ### Sectors Adopting This - **Electronics and Electrical Engineering:** Innovating to improve safety and convenience in electrical devices - **Construction and Industrial:** Developing rugged and durable equipment for use in harsh environments - **Event Planning and Production:** Creating innovative products to help manage cables and improve safety in high-footfall event spaces ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Design-Conscious Extension Cords](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/willow-power-supply.md) - [Pencil-Resembling Power Strips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pencil-multitap.md) - [Sleek Charging Cable Wraps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taim.md) - [Job Site-Friendly Flashlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blackdecker-snake-light.md) - [Rotating Outlet Power Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oconnect-onestep.md) - [Modular Power Strip Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nodes.md) - [Design-Conscious Power Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/power-strip-concept.md) - [Multipurpose Magnetic Cables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/supercalla-cable.md) - [Modern Retractable Chargers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flexline-67w.md)
