His piece entitled "Think globally, act locally" involves him wearing a hockey mask with bananas attached; it makes him look like a banana porcupine. Not only that, but he had inserted firecrackers into every banana which are then lit one at a time. The explosions are spectacularly mushy - spraying all over the camera lens too! It makes for weird, compulsive viewing. One internet comment likened it to [popping bubble wrap](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/da-bomb-extreme). Another thought it scary and soothing at the same time. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Viral](https://www.trendhunter.com/viral) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Performance Art Explosion:** Opportunity to explore the use of explosive elements in performance art to create visually captivating experiences. - **Interactive Video Art:** Innovative use of video art that engages viewers through unconventional and surprising elements like exploding bananas. - **Weird and Compulsive Viewing:** The rise of unconventional and mesmerizing content that captivates audiences and sparks discussions. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Entertainment:** Potential for artists to push boundaries and create unique experiences that challenge traditional forms of art. - **Digital Media and Film:** Opportunity for digital media creators and filmmakers to experiment with interactive and immersive content that leaves a lasting impact. - **Event Planning and Production:** Exploration of unconventional elements in event planning and production to create memorable and attention-grabbing experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Spoof Sparkling Water Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/can-of-art.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Awareness-Raising Banana Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nonfungible-banana.md) - [Snack Artwork Auctions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mischief-by-chester.md) - [Pop Artist-Collaborative Phone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casetify-and-andy-warhol.md) - [Banana-Scented Beauty Balms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prada-beauty-lip-balm.md) - [Explosion-Damaged Sculpture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-into-darkness.md) - [Spiky Inflatable Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-sculptures1.md) - [Physics-Informed Digital Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-sculpture.md)
