# Hyper-Realistic Surreal Paintings Exhale by Jeremy Geddes is Filled With Suspended Subjects By Meghan Young | Published 2012-10-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exhale-by-jeremy-geddes References: [trendsnow.net](http://www.trendsnow.net/inspiration/jeremy-geddes-exhale) & [jonathanlevinegallery](http://jonathanlevinegallery.com/?method=Exhibit.ExhibitDescription&ExhibitID=E40AAE5F-9601-F4FF-233D585F999BBC6B) The latest solo art exhibit titled Exhale by Jeremy Geddes is just as impressive as his previous ones. His [paintings](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeremy-geddes)are so realistic, those not familiar with his work will mistake them for photographs. Of course, they would think the images were doctored photographs considering how surreal the subject is. All of the people featured in Exhale by Jeremy Geddes are impossibly suspended in mid-air as if the center of gravity just shifted. His first solo show in the United States, the Melbourne-based artist created 17 new artworks. Although they appear to have a similar theme, one in which the surroundings are either desolate or fractured, the exhibit is both somber and cathartic. It is being shown at [Jonathan LeVine Gallery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jonathan-adler-collection). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 89% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Hyper-realism:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the use of hyper-realistic techniques in virtual reality experiences. - **Surrealism:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate surreal elements into advertisement campaigns for a memorable and attention-grabbing impact. - **Suspension:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Apply the concept of suspension and mid-air subjects in architectural designs to create unique and visually stunning spaces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop AI-powered software that can generate hyper-realistic paintings, saving time and resources for artists while still maintaining artistic authenticity. - **Virtual Reality:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create immersive virtual reality experiences that allow users to explore hyper-realistic surreal worlds. - **Advertising:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate surrealistic elements into advertisements to capture the attention and curiosity of consumers, leaving a lasting impression. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Abstract Geometric Solo Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impermanent-state-of-being.md) - [Artful Suspended Fashion Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisible-figures.md) - [Otherwordly Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/william-monk.md) - [Playful Balloon Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keff-joons.md) - [Physics-Informed Digital Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-sculpture.md) - [Drone-Assisted Landscape Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/katsu-1.md) - [Surreal Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeffrey-deitch-art-gallery.md) - [Weather-Inspired Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weatherinspired-art-exhibition.md) - [Human Duality-Themed Abstract Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/passive-aggression.md)
