# Attachable Smart Elevator Interfaces EVW-1 Helps Robots Move Freely Across Vertical Spaces By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2026-01-01 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evw-1 References: [ces.tech](https://www.ces.tech/ces-innovation-awards/2026/evw-1-universal-elevator-interface-for-autonomous-robot/) EVW-1 is a universal, smart, attach-and-operate elevator interface that gives [autonomous robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doosan-robotics) seamless vertical mobility without retrofits or system integration. Autonomous robots can navigate floors, but elevators remain a major barrier to full-building operation. Integrating robots with elevators is slow, expensive, and complex, often requiring custom software, permissions, and infrastructure changes that delay deployment. Existing solutions depend on proprietary elevator systems, limited compatibility, or costly retrofits, ultimately making large-scale, real-world robot deployment impractical. This solution, developed by Golerobotics, attaches directly to existing elevator panels and works with any brand or protocol. Originally built for [construction logistics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robotics-fulfillment-platform), this CES 2026 Innovation Awards Honoree in Smart Communities enables smart buildings, last-mile delivery, and [humanoid robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hexagons-aeon) to move more seamlessly across vertical spaces. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 48% | Freshness: 60% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/robots) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Universal Smart Interfaces:** The development of universal smart interfaces, such as the EVW-1, opens up opportunities for seamless integration of technology across multiple platforms without needing extensive retrofitting. - **Robotics in Vertical Navigation:** Innovations in robotic vertical navigation eliminate the elevator barrier, allowing robots to operate across all levels of buildings and enhancing real-world application scalability. - **Elevator Interface Standardization:** Standardizing elevator interfaces, exemplified by the EVW-1, can significantly reduce integration costs and complexities, paving the way for widespread automated system deployment. ### Who This Affects Most - **Smart Building Technology:** Advancements in attachable elevator interfaces could expedite smart building transformations by allowing existing infrastructure to support new technology seamlessly. - **Construction Logistics:** The construction logistics industry stands to benefit from innovations like EVW-1, which enhance mobility and efficiency of automations within construction sites. - **Delivery and Transport Automation:** Automation in delivery and transport is poised for growth as versatile elevator interfaces facilitate unrestricted movement of service robots in multi-storey environments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Autonomous Residential Delivery Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/golerobotics-aa2.md) - [Adaptogenic THC Spritzes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ruby-red-ranch-water.md) - [Spooky Simulated Elevator Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-boo-elevator.md) - [Bold Urban Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hotel-hans.md) - [Accessibility-Focused Railway Maps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accessibility-maps.md) - [Immersive Elevator Holiday Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enchanted-elevator.md) - [Pet-Honoring Toronto Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kimpton-saint-george-hotel.md) - [Reimagined Riverside Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gate-m-west-bund-dream-center.md) - [Travel Gear Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/its-not-just-a-bag.md)
