Supernal, a [Hyundai](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sa2)-owned spinoff company that specializes in electric aircraft, has showcased a prototype of the 'S-A2,' an eVTOL air taxi that could play a key role in the future of transportation.

The 'S-A2' is an eVTOL air taxi that acts as the successor to the S-A1 that was introduced back in 2020. What makes the new iteration of the eVTOL taxi different is the fact that it features a more streamlined frame that is aided by eight hanging rotors. Capable of attaining a top speed of 200 km/h, this particular aircraft is designed for shorter trips and is able to take off in relatively silent manner by generating [only 65 decibels during its vertical takeoff](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-aircraft-technology).

Ben Diachun, chief technology officer of Supernal, stated that this prototype will eventually give way to a commercially available eVTOL air taxi.
