# Plasmic Work Surfaces The Evfyra Table Looks Like Fluid Frozen in a Smooth and Abstract Form By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-10-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evfyra-table References: [dornob](http://dornob.com/fluid-modern-office-desk-looks-different-from-every-angle/) & [nuvist](http://www.nuvist.com/works/evfyra/) You can hardly get more contemporary than this piece of furniture; the Evfyra Table takes a form that one cannot really define, void of any real straight lines and taking unexpected bends here and there. It's almost as if the Nuvist piece was modeled out of putty and given a hardened shell to keep its obscure shape. This idiosyncratic escritoire is as successful as a fascinating sculpture as it is as a desk. The item demands all of the focus in a room, seducing the glances it gets with its organic curvatures that appear different from every single angle. The briefly flat surface of the Evfyra Table curls down to shape supportive footings on either side, forming a stable surface that seems to challenge the limitations of a rigid physical world. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Organic Furniture:** Designing furniture with fluid and abstract shapes creates unique and attention-grabbing pieces. - **Sculptural Desks:** Combining functionality with artistic design allows desks to become focal points in the room. - **Challenging Conventional Form:** Exploring unconventional shapes and curved designs pushes the boundaries of traditional furniture. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Innovative furniture shapes and designs provide opportunities for manufacturers to create distinct and modern products. - **Interior Design:** Unique and sculptural furniture pieces open up new possibilities for interior designers to create visually stunning spaces. - **Art and Sculpture:** Blurring the line between furniture and art, these sculptural desks offer opportunities for artists to showcase their creativity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Fluid Topographic Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dune-table.md) - [Harmonious Helical Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vortex-coffee-table.md) - [Sculptural Wall Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-wall-desk.md) - [Dynamic Sculptural Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-transformation-table.md) - [Fabric-Like Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tablecloth-side-table.md) - [Minimalist Monochromatic Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arqus-desk.md) - [Floating Architectural Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/1949-protractor-desk.md) - [Shimmering Oceanic Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liquid-table.md) - [Undulating Fabric-Topped Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/groove-table-concept.md)
