# Abandoned Movie Set Photography Every World's a Stage by Ra di Martino Captures 'Star Wars' Ruins By Meghan Young | Published 2013-05-10 | Fashion Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/every-worlds-a-stage References: [fastcodesign](http://www.fastcodesign.com/1672518/a-photographer-rediscovers-the-crumbling-remains-of-tatooine) & [radimartino](http://www.radimartino.com/) While historical buffs might wet their pants at the idea of roaming the ruins of Pompeii or the Mayan Temples, sci-fi geeks will probably cut off their pinky toe for the chance to explore the forgotten ['Star Wars' set for Tatooine](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-lucas-museum-of-narrative-arts), the birthplace of Luke Skywalker. The Every World's a Stage photo series ensures such drastic measures are not necessary by bringing the Lars homestead into the comfort of fans' own homes. The project of New York-based photographer Rä di Martino, who stumbled on the site quite by accident, the Every World's a Stage photo series showcases structures that "sit in perfect stillness, at the crest of the [Sahara Desert](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-azzurra), eaten away by dust and sand," as beautifully described on [Fast Co. Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nail-care-system). There are also sets for Raiders of the Lost Ark and The English Patient left to erode and decay. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.6/10 - Popularity: 94% | Activity: 95% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/fashion) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/stylephotography) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Abandoned Movie Set Photography:** Discovering and capturing the beauty of forgotten film sets creates opportunities for nostalgic experiences and artistic expression. - **Virtual Tours of Film Sets:** Bringing abandoned movie sets to virtual reality platforms allows fans to explore and interact with iconic film locations without physical limitations. - **Film Tourism:** The popularity of visiting and experiencing iconic film locations presents opportunities for travel and hospitality industries to cater to film enthusiasts. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** Incorporating abandoned movie set photography into portfolios or publications can attract niche audiences and showcase artistic skills. - **Virtual Reality:** Developing virtual reality experiences featuring abandoned movie sets opens up new entertainment possibilities and immersive storytelling. - **Travel and Hospitality:** Creating themed travel packages and accommodations centered around popular film locations can attract film tourists and boost local economies. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Classical Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sen-donnan.md) - [Dramatic Doomsday Bunker Images](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alastair-philip-wiper.md) - [Sci-Fi Movie Scene Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-death-star-trash-compactor-diorama.md) - [Sci-Fi Franchise-Inspired Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-wars-collection-2.md) - [Retro Space-Themed Puzzled Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/john-carter.md) - [Sci-Fi Scene-Inspired Lego Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scifi-sceneinspired-lego-set.md) - [Forgotten Theme-Park Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forgotten-fantasy.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Modern Ruin-Inspired Californian Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/romick-house.md)
