# Strung-Up Lights The Unique Evergreen Lamp Operates On a Pulley System By Matt Ho | Published 2011-02-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/evergreen-lamp References: [mocoloco](http://mocoloco.com/fresh2/2011/02/03/evergreen-lamp-by-vibeke-skar-jens-praet.php) & [vibekeskar](http://www.vibekeskar.com/Industrial) The Evergreen Lamp is the latest fixture from designers Vibeke Skar and Jens Praet. What's interesting about the Evergreen Lamp is the way it's supported. Rather than a stand or a chain, the lamp is held together via a pulley system. The light's height can be changed by pulling the string it's attached to with its adjustments secured on a hook attached to the wall. The shade itself is made from mouth blown glass that's been sandblasted for a crisp clean look. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 29% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Pulley Lighting:** An opportunity for lighting designers to incorporate pulley systems in their lamp designs to offer a unique aesthetic and functionality. - **Adjustable Lighting:** An opportunity for designers to create adjustable lighting fixtures that can easily be customized to fit different spaces and needs. - **Blown Glass Lighting:** An opportunity for glass blowing designers to explore the use of sandblasted glass in their lamp designs for a modern and clean look. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** An opportunity for interior designers to incorporate unique lighting fixtures that offer both functionality and aesthetic appeal in their projects. - **Lighting Design:** An opportunity for lighting designers to innovate their designs by incorporating adjustable elements and pulley systems in their fixtures. - **Glass Blowing:** An opportunity for glass blowing artists to explore the use of sandblasted glass in their lamp designs, as it offers a modern and clean look compared to traditional glass designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Ecological Dual Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-light.md) - [Raw Minimalist Pine Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hoop-table-lamp.md) - [Plant-Supporting Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/led-growlight.md) - [Skateboarding-Inspired Wood Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blue-green-works.md) - [Demure Dual-Function Hanging Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-fixture-planter.md) - [Pine Wood-Inspired Minimal Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jakobsson.md) - [Outlet-Equipped Workstation Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avro-pendant-lamp.md) - [Paper-Made Origami Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hanging-origami-lamp.md)
