# Globular Desert Loungers The Etazin Lounge Chair is a Desert Oasis in Itself By Megan Facciuolo | Published 2014-06-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/etazin-lounge-chair References: [sneakhype](http://sneakhype.com/accessories/2014/06/will-never-lounge-chair-dope-one.html) & [etazin](http://www.etazin.com/home.html) Kate Brown created a desert-stricken chair called the Etazin Lounge Chair as a unique piece of art and a relaxing piece of furniture combined. The lounge chair contains spherical metal that rotates on a swivel. It is about 8.5 feet tall and rotates 360º. Laying in a concave arched chair may not sound like the most comfortable action on the planet, but this globular chair boasts similar characteristics of a hammock. It is a modern and interactive piece of outdoor furniture thanks to its rings that can be spun in any direction by its user. This specific chair is permanently installed a the Taliesin West school in Scottsdale, Arizona amongst the student shelters in the desert, but you can order your own online and install it into any concrete or wood platform. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 65% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Interactive Outdoor Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop interactive outdoor furniture that combines art and relaxation for a unique user experience. - **Spherical Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the use of spherical designs in furniture to create unconventional and visually striking pieces. - **Rotating Swivel Chairs:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design rotating swivel chairs that offer a 360º range of motion for enhanced comfort and versatility. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate innovative materials and designs in furniture manufacturing to create visually appealing and functional products. - **Outdoor Recreation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new outdoor recreational products that provide unique and immersive experiences for users. - **Art Installations:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Combine art and technology to create innovative and interactive art installations that captivate audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ergonomic Inflated Reclined Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/johannes-faurebrac.md) - [Rope-Like Dynamic Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caterpillar-lounge.md) - [Ergonomic Relaxation Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zephyr-lounger.md) - [Desert Dune-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nando-studio.md) - [Comfort-Focused Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-grapy-lounge-chair.md) - [Vibrant Chaise Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/versarest.md) - [Flatpack Ultra-Modular Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebula-chair.md) - [Wavy Lounge Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wavy-lounge-chair.md) - [Circular Modernist Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zerogravity-chair.md)
