# Caffiene-Inspired Lights The Espresso Lamp Has a Playful Geometric Touch By Matt Ho | Published 2011-03-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/espresso-lamp References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2011/03/09/the-espresso-lamp-by-fly-pitcher/) & [flypitch.wordpress](http://flypitch.wordpress.com/2011/03/03/mini-espresso-lamp/) Designer Pier Mansfield-Scaddan of Fly-Pitcher has come up with an amusing [miniature light](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossi) called the Espresso Lamp. No, the Espresso Lamp isn't a hybrid of a light source and a coffee machine, but rather, its name comes from the designs' concept. The look of the lamp was inspired by the stove top of an [Italian espresso pot](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moka-pot). The design is basic and simple, which is always a nice change from the overly complicated fixtures we have today. The "T" light has a nice geometric touch with an angular top and base. The bright colors helps give the Espresso Lamp more of a playful vibe that'd make any living space more inviting. The Espresso Lamp comes in a [variety of colors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takeout-lamp) and comes in three different sizes: single, double and mini. There will also be an additional limited edition release of the mini versions that are individually numbered. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.0/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Geometric Lighting:** Designing lighting fixtures with playful geometric touches to add more inviting spaces. - **Minimalism:** Using basic and simple designs for lighting fixtures to create a nice change from overly complicated devices. - **Bright Colors:** Incorporating bright colors in lighting fixtures to add a playful vibe to living spaces. ### Where This Applies - **Lighting:** Manufacturers of lighting fixtures can explore the use of geometric shapes and bright colors to offer playful and inviting lighting options for consumers. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can recommend geometric and minimalist lighting fixtures to provide a refreshing change in home decor styles. - **Home Accessories:** Companies specializing in home accessories can create playful and colorful lighting fixtures that will attract customers who are seeking a more laid-back and fun vibe in their living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Space-Saving Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacesaving-desk-lamp.md) - [Stackable Modular Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/module-table-lamp.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Gelato-Inspired Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gelato-lamp.md) - [Retro-Tinged Compact Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lari-mini.md) - [Harmonious Furniture-Inspired Espresso Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origin-espresso-machine.md) - [Dripping Faucet-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-light-fixture.md) - [Eclipse-Inspired Whimsical Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-traveler.md) - [Elegant Compact Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-table-light.md)
