While many before him have capitalized on the suggestive nature of edible material, Doherty takes it to another level. Many of his images are imbued with an ethereal, almost cosmic quality that borders on surreal. These fetishized foodstuffs are sure to send shivers down your spine, whether it be the shot of a [succulent, buxom raspberry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delicious-dessert-company) delicately squeezed between two fingers or a close-up of an extra gooey, [luscious slice of brie](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pickle-milk-chocolate). Doherty's work should come with a disclaimer: warning, may cause a potentially uncomfortable sexual attraction to perishable food items. Whipped cream and strawberries are the typical cuisine of the bedroom, but Doherty's collection of [titillating photographs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chocolate-romance-collection) may encourage you to expand the menu to include cheese, eggs and citrus fruit. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.4/10 - Popularity: 95% | Activity: 89% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Erotic Food Photography:** Exploring the artistic potential of food photography to evoke sensuality and desire, opening up new possibilities for culinary expression. - **Surreal Food Imagery:** Using ethereal and cosmic elements in food photography to create visually captivating and intriguing images that challenge traditional notions of food. - **Expanded Culinarymenu:** Inspiring individuals to broaden their culinary experiences by incorporating unconventional ingredients and dishes into their meals. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Food and Beverage Industry:** Introducing a new genre of food photography that appeals to individual's desire for sensory experiences, creating opportunities for innovative marketing campaigns and product launches. - **Art and Photography:** Exploring new artistic avenues for food photographers to experiment with unconventional techniques and themes, leading to the creation of unique and provocative visual narratives. - **Culinary Arts:** Encouraging chefs and culinary professionals to push boundaries and create unconventional dishes that combine artistry, sensuality, and gastronomy, as inspired by the erotic food photography trend. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Unconventional Foodie Magazines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/food-magazine.md) - [Sex-Positive Art Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carne-bollente-3.md) - [Naughty Valentines Day Treats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sugar-wood.md) - [Limited-Edition Erotica Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toy-stories.md) - [Sexuality-Exploring Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rude-arts-club.md) - [Suggestive-Visual Celebratory Chocolates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/valentines-day-chocolates-1.md) - [Hyperrealistic Food Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/looks-delicious.md) - [Sensualized Dinner Dates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ky-desire-darkroom.md) - [Food-Inspired Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dish-pics.md)
