# Fighting Reptile Renderings Eric Braddock Paints the Ninja Turtles with an Ethereal Glow By Jason Soy | Published 2012-01-28 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eric-braddock References: [all-about-villains.tumblr](http://all-about-villains.tumblr.com/post/16527863610/tmnt-krang-by-ericbraddock#post-notes) & [ericbraddock.deviantart](http://ericbraddock.deviantart.com/) There are nearly an infinite amount of artistic interpretations of the [Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hello-kitty-tmnt), but these Eric Braddock paintings really capture Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo and Michelangelo in a new light. Rendered in a realistic manner, each one of the [vigilante reptiles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-ops-6-tmnt) have battle scars, scales, and other imperfections you would expect see on warriors fighting crime on a nightly basis. Where Eric Braddock’s illustrations differ from most other artists’ renderings, however, is in his signature trait of making his subjects glow. Every one of the turtles emanates an aesthetically pleasing light that makes each picture look that much more epic than they already are. Included in this series of pictures is Krang, beloved villain of the Ninja Turtles franchise which fans have been begging to see on the silver screen, but to no avail. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 75% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Realistic Ninja Turtle Paintings:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Leveraging realistic artistic techniques to create visually stunning and unique interpretations of popular characters. - **Glowing Subject Art:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Introducing ethereal glowing effects to traditional artwork to enhance its overall impact and appeal. - **Demand for Unique Villain Artwork:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Meeting the demand for artwork featuring beloved villains from popular franchises in a distinctive and compelling way. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Design:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Exploring new techniques and mediums in the art and design industry to create innovative and captivating artwork. - **Entertainment and Media:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Incorporating unique artistic interpretations into entertainment and media productions to offer fresh and visually engaging experiences. - **Collectibles and Merchandise:** Disruptive Innovation Opportunity: Developing and marketing collectible artwork featuring popular characters to cater to the demand for unique and highly desirable pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cartoon Turtle Figurines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teljesnegyzet.md) - [Animated Movie-Themed Snack Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtle-cakebites.md) - [Crossover Action Adventure Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-and-naruto.md) - [Cartoon-Inspired Card Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magic-the-gathering-x-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles.md) - [Nostalgic Superhero-Inspired Soaps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cowabunga-cleanse.md) - [90s Cartoon-Themed Supplements](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ghost-x-tmnt-products.md) - [Animated Turtle Clothing Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sheins-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles.md) - [Action Cartoon Game Crossovers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/black-ops-6-tmnt.md) - [Sci-Fi Nostalgic Dragon Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ground-dragon.md)
