# Desk Riding Ergonomic ScooterDesk By Bianca | Published 2007-10-28 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-scooterdesk References: [utilia.be](http://utilia.be/collection/scooterdesk/) The ScooterDesk is another "it was only a matter of time" contraptions that is so strange, yet makes perfect sense. The wheeled device makes it look like you've cozied up to a bar; your personal table is a convenient platform for your laptop, and the attached [bar stool-like chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sedeo-chair) aids as a bum rest. Though you may look a little geeky stationed on one of these, your back will thank you. The peculiar design actually has health benefits; the [ergonomic form](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-workstations) is designed to let you work for hours on end with minimal back pain. "They improve the ergonomic wellbeing (of workers) for all possible kinds of activities where occasional sitting and use of a small desk are needed," ScooterDesk says. "Your back is in optimal position: straight. - You are stimulated to gently move and change position often: - You train your ligaments and muscles, and stimulate your circulation and metabolic processes. - You may have a lot of fun riding to your co-workers." Imagine, a few years from now, busting one of these out from the ScooterDesk dispenser at your local coffee shop! Oh, won't we look cool! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/health) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Ergonomic Workstations:** The ScooterDesk highlights the trend of ergonomic workstations that prioritize employee well-being and productivity. - **Active Sitting:** The ScooterDesk embraces the trend of active sitting, encouraging movement and reducing the negative effects of prolonged sitting. - **Multipurpose Furniture:** The ScooterDesk represents the trend of multipurpose furniture that combines functionality and convenience in one design. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** The furniture industry can explore disruptive innovation opportunities by creating more ergonomic and versatile workstations like the ScooterDesk. - **Office Supplies:** The office supplies industry can capitalize on the trend of ergonomic workstations by offering accessories and add-ons specifically designed for active sitting. - **Technology:** The technology industry can integrate smart features into ergonomic workstations, enhancing productivity and providing personalized health monitoring for users. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Motorized Cable-Hiding Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steno-sitandstand-work-desk.md) - [Ergonomic Wheel-Integrated Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/azbi-chair.md) - [Ergonomic Wheel-Shaped Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-azbi-chair.md) - [Spinal Alignment Desk Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/standing-desk-chair-encourages.md) - [Yoga-Inspired Workstations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lunadesk1.md) - [Bold Mobile Work Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omniseat-portable-productivity.md) - [Rest-Supportive Desk Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lazy-concept.md) - [Performance-Driven Ergonomic Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-office-chair2.md) - [Health-Focused Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-office-chair.md)
