While other chairs will cause issues by creating pressure points, the 'Variable Balans' chair works with the body's natural curves and bends. From here, the seat encourages sitters to sit up straight and shift pressure evenly across the body rather than just on the back and bottom. The 'Variable Balans' Ergonomic Desk Chair works well as a [replacement to the traditional office chair](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omni-ergonomic-office-chair), but also works well as being a seat that can [enable movement](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tgif-t0). The design allows users to stretch out their legs, move their body and stay active throughout the day. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 90% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/health) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Movement-based Seating:** The 'Variable Balans' chair offers a healthier seated experience by promoting natural movement. - **Ergonomic Design:** Chairs that work with the body's natural curves and bends will appeal to health-conscious consumers. - **Office Wellness:** As sedentary lifestyles continue to be a concern, companies may offer healthier seating options to improve employee wellness. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can create innovative chair designs to appeal to health-conscious consumers and businesses seeking office wellness solutions. - **Office Supply Retail:** Retailers can capitalize on the demand for ergonomic office furniture by offering a variety of options to consumers and businesses. - **Corporate Wellness:** Corporate wellness consultants and providers can incorporate ergonomic seating options as part of workplace wellness programs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dynamic Ergonomic Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/libernovo-omni.md) - [Performance-Driven Ergonomic Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-office-chair2.md) - [Health-Focused Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-office-chair.md) - [Naturalistic Kneeling Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vilno-nord-kneeling-chair.md) - [Dynamic Intelligent Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dynamic-spinecare.md) - [Supplemental Posture Chair Supports](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curble-chair.md) - [Sit-Stand Office Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/movably-pro.md) - [Minimalist Ergonomic Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-office-chair1.md) - [Ergonomic Wheel-Shaped Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-azbi-chair.md)
