The Erascan works like a scanner in that it copies down all of the doodles and drawings on a board and saves them to a memory card. The Erascan can also transmit the saved data to a computer or other gadget using its [built-in WiFi connectivity](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-office-solutions). As it's doing this, it’s also erasing, making it doubly functional. The chalkboard and overhead projector have both become victims of the march of technology, but the whiteboard is the one low-tech classroom/office essential that seems here to stay. Being able to [save notes written on a whiteboard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/remember-pad) without having to actually rewrite them would save a ton of time, which also equates to saving a ton of money. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Smart Whiteboard Erasers:** Techie whiteboard erasers that save erased notes and doodles to a memory card, offering convenience and efficiency. - **Digital Transcription Devices:** Devices that digitally transcribe whiteboard content, enabling seamless storage and sharing of information. - **Wireless Connectivity Solutions:** Innovations that integrate WiFi connectivity into whiteboard erasers, facilitating easy transfer of data to other devices. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Education Technology:** Opportunities for creating smart whiteboard erasers to enhance the learning experience in schools and universities. - **Office Supplies:** Potential for digital transcription devices to revolutionize office meetings and collaborative work environments. - **Information Technology:** Demand for wireless connectivity solutions to improve the efficiency of data transfer and collaboration in various industries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Magnetic Whiteboard Notebooks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whiteboard-notebook.md) - [Multifunctional One-Piece Stationary](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mover-erase-unisize.md) - [Digitized Sticky Note Projectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/memojector.md) - [Whiteboard Workstation Organizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deskboard-buddy.md) - [Real-Time Digitizing Note-Taking Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digitizing-notetaking.md) - [Organized Digital Whiteboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-whiteboards.md) - [Paper-Free To-Do Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eminder.md) - [Smart Note-Capture Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-pen.md) - [Virtual Whiteboard Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whiteboard-owl.md)
