One of the defining features of light is its ability to provide light at several angles similar to the sun. It is done through the premium system of LEDs, which alters calculated angles over time. It uses time data collected from sunrises and sunsets to ensure that the plants being nourished are getting the correct spectrum of light. It breaches traditional grow lights on the market by adding Internet of Things technology that is supported by integrated Wi-Fi capabilities. The brightness and color temperature can be easily controlled on the dedicated app. Image Credit: Yechan Choi ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 7.3/10 - Popularity: 99% | Activity: 100% | Freshness: 19% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Smart Grow Lights:** The Equinox light is a disruptive smart grow light that uses premium LEDs to mimic sunlight angles and provide the perfect spectrum of light for optimal plant growth. - **Internet of Things (iot):** The Equinox light integrates IoT technology, allowing users to control the brightness and color temperature of the light through a dedicated app. - **Natural Light Simulation:** Yechan Choi's Equinox light disrupts traditional grow lights by using time data from sunrises and sunsets to simulate natural light and optimize plant nourishment. ### Who This Affects Most - **Agriculture:** The Equinox light presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for the agriculture industry, providing a smart grow light solution that enhances plant growth and vitality. - **Lighting:** With its advanced LED system and IoT integration, the Equinox light introduces a disruptive innovation opportunity in the lighting industry for customizable and efficient indoor lighting. - **Smart Home:** The Equinox light's integration of IoT technology and app control offers a disruptive innovation opportunity in the smart home industry, providing users with convenient control over their indoor lighting and plant growth. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Indoor Plant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-plants1.md) - [Sunlight Spectrum Desk Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ocean-sun-plant-light.md) - [Ambient Grow Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aura-ambient-grow-light.md) - [Plant-Supporting Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/led-growlight.md) - [Garden-Integrated Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-gardening-1.md) - [Biology-First Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skyview.md) - [Water-Powered Planter Smart Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planto.md) - [Haute Horticulturalist Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-care-system.md) - [Sunlight-Mimicking Panelled Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunne-lamp.md)
