Gone are the days when meeting or lecture notes are erased from a whiteboard and lost forever. The device includes a sleeve -- into which regular dry erase pens can fit -- and a sensor that is attached to a magnetic strip that can be stuck on one side of a [writing surface](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hkmlc-smart-boards). When the user writes on the whiteboard surface, the sleeve communicates its location to a sensor via ultrasonic positioning. The sensor then relays the notes and drawings to devices via Bluetooth. The Equil Smartmarker is a fine example of technology being used to enhance a simple and old-fashioned yet irreplaceable method of working. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 24% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Streaming Whiteboard Notes:** The Equil Smartmarker enables the streaming of whiteboard notes to devices via Bluetooth, revolutionizing the way notes are captured and shared. - **Ultrasonic Positioning:** The use of ultrasonic positioning in the Equil Smartmarker opens up opportunities for precise tracking and alignment in various industries. - **Enhancing Traditional Methods:** The Equil Smartmarker showcases the potential of technology to enhance and improve traditional working methods. ### Who This Affects Most - **Education:** The Equil Smartmarker can greatly benefit educational institutions by digitizing whiteboard notes and making them easily accessible to students and teachers. - **Boardroom Meetings:** Streaming whiteboard notes in real-time can enhance collaboration and productivity in corporate boardroom meetings. - **Design and Architecture:** The Equil Smartmarker's capability to capture and stream whiteboard sketches can be disruptive in the design and architecture industry, enabling seamless collaboration and remote work. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Virtual Whiteboard Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whiteboard-owl.md) - [Magnetic Whiteboard Notebooks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whiteboard-notebook.md) - [Personal Portable Whiteboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-whiteboard-1.md) - [Tablet Writing Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moleskine-smart-writing-system.md) - [AI-Powered Smart Notebooks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moleskine-smart.md) - [Multifunctional One-Piece Stationary](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mover-erase-unisize.md) - [Real-Time Digitizing Note-Taking Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digitizing-notetaking.md) - [Organized Digital Whiteboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-whiteboards.md) - [Digitized Sticky Note Projectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/memojector.md)
