# Reflective Furniture Hybrids The Wabi-Sabi Mirror&Table by Eny Lee Parker is Creatively Chic By Meghan Young | Published 2015-06-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eny-lee-parker References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/wabi-sabi-mirrortable-eny-lee-parker/) & [enyleeparker](http://www.enyleeparker.com/) It looks like Eny Lee Parker might have a long and successful career ahead of her. A recent graduate student from the [Savannah College of Art and Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loxo-chair), her latest designs are incredibly chic and creative. Take the [Wabi-Sabi](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-glassware) Mirror&Table as the perfect example. A hybrid between a mirror and table, one leg of the freestanding mirror is replaced by the small side table. Eny Lee Parker fit the mirror into a slot in order to provide another dimension to the design. While the mirror portion of the design is quite straight-forward except for the re-imagined base, the table is quite striking. Eny Lee Parker crafted it out of a wood, giving it a curvaceous aesthetic that brings a sculptural appeal to the home. Eny Lee Parker named the piece after the Japanese theory of wabi sabi is finding beauty in imperfection. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Hybrid Furniture Designs:** There is a growing trend towards creating furniture designs that combine multiple functions and elements, such as the Wabi-Sabi Mirror&Table. - **Creative Home Decor:** Innovative designers like Eny Lee Parker are pushing the boundaries of traditional home decor by introducing unique and artistic pieces. - **Embracing Imperfections:** The concept of finding beauty in imperfection, as demonstrated by the Wabi-Sabi Mirror&Table, is gaining popularity in interior design. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers have the opportunity to disrupt the industry by creating hybrid designs that offer practical functionality and artistic appeal. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can embrace disruptive innovation by incorporating creative and unconventional pieces that challenge traditional aesthetics. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can leverage the trend of embracing imperfections to create unique and personalized spaces that reflect individuality and character. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Jewelry-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/through-chrome-reflections.md) - [Curvaceous Shelf-Paired Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wave-mirror.md) - [Hybrid Aesthetic Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyobodo-fuoco.md) - [One-of-a-Kind Ceramic Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ceramic-mirror.md) - [Bifold Functional Storage Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabine-mirror.md) - [Realistic Sketch-Reflective Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawing-series.md) - [Playful Wavy Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wavy-table-design.md) - [Chic Norm-Challenging Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wiggle-collection.md) - [Wavy Dual-Action Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archvyli.md)
