Envi combines both and allows them to live harmoniously amongst each other. The plant uses the [biodegradable waste](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vermicomposter) from the garbage to nourish and feed itself. According to the designer, Envi “uses bio-reactive substances based on photo catalysis to accelerate the degradation process of waste, remove bad smells and polluting gas.” The Envi garbage bin also shows the relationship between and human and his/her environment, depending how well the plant grows. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Green Garbage Bins:** Green garbage bins that also function as planters using biodegradable waste are a disruptive innovation opportunity for waste disposal and urban gardening. - **Bioreactive Substances:** Bio-reactive substances based on photo catalysis that accelerate the degradation process of waste are a disruptive innovation opportunity for waste management and odor elimination. - **Symbiotic Design:** Symbiotic design of Envi garbage bins that show the relationship between humans and the environment is a disruptive innovation opportunity for public spaces and urban design. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Waste Management:** The Envi garbage bin's use of bio-reactive substances and plant growth is a disruptive innovation opportunity for sustainable waste management solutions. - **Urban Gardening:** Green garbage bins that also function as planters using biodegradable waste are a disruptive innovation opportunity for increasing urban green spaces and promoting sustainable living. - **Public Space Design:** The symbiotic design of Envi garbage bins that show the relationship between humans and the environment is a disruptive innovation opportunity for public space design and creating sustainable urban environments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Intuitive Countertop Composters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vego-kitchen-composter.md) - [Modular Organization Garbage Bins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-garbage-bins.md) - [Sustainably Constructed Garbage Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rubbish-bin.md) - [Versatile Egg-Shaped Waste Bins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nextgen-waste-bin.md) - [Customizable Garbage Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/totem-compact-unit.md) - [Tipping Trash Can Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/niko-trash-bin.md) - [Chic Self-Watering Garden Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glowpear-mini-bench.md) - [Chic Utilitarian Trash Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carden-the-twin.md) - [Urbanite Worm Compost Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vermicomposter.md)
