Conventional ironing apparatuses are already one-handed and fairly compact, but they require a [smooth and suitable surface](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/revo-stovigo) on which to de-crease your collared shirts. An innovative alternative is this Quirky design that brings the ironing board and the [hot plate](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-heat-press) into one convenient contraption. It's spring-hinged so that it remains open in its resting position with both panels pushing together when you tighten your grasp. The top is the heated surface and the lower part has a soft layer of nylon to act as a padded base. Simply guide the Enfold Iron over [ribbons, ties and necklines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lenor-crease-releaser) and use it as a handy steamer as required. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.9/10 - Popularity: 72% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Combination Appliances:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating multi-functional appliances that combine two or more functionalities, like the Enfold Iron. - **Convenience in Household Chores:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in developing products that streamline and simplify the process of everyday household tasks, like the Enfold Iron. - **Compact and Portable Solutions:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in designing compact and portable solutions for common household appliances, like the Enfold Iron. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Household Appliances:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the household appliances industry by creating innovative and convenient products like the Enfold Iron. - **Home Essentials:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the home essentials industry by developing products that simplify and improve everyday household tasks, like the Enfold Iron. - **Fabric Care:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the fabric care industry by introducing compact and portable solutions for ironing and steaming clothes, like the Enfold Iron. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Space-Saving Garment Care Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flip-dualfunction-ironing-board-mirror.md) - [Fully Automated Ironing Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fully-automated-ironing-system.md) - [Folding Garment Care Caddies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joseph-joseph-pocket-plus.md) - [Shapeshifting Garment Care Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/garment-steamer.md) - [Dual-Fucntional Steam Iron Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/darimeven.md) - [Garment-Drying Laundry Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zera-lab-launbot.md) - [Clip-Style Clothing Care Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steamur.md) - [Handheld Garment Cleaning Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-dry-cleaner.md) - [Pressurized Steam-Equipped Clothing Irons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pressurized-steamequipped-clothing-iron.md)
