# LED-Illuminated Seesaws 'A Tilt of Light' by ENESS is an Art Installation That Encourages Play By Kevin Young | Published 2012-06-21 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eness References: [laughingsquid](http://laughingsquid.com/a-tilt-of-light-an-led-seesaw/) & [eness](http://www.eness.com/?r=About) ENESS is an Austrailian art and design studio that brings back the childhood memories of playgrounds. This illuminating seesaw installation is entitled 'A Tilt of Light' and it encourages both kids and those who are still kids at heart to laugh and play. The seesaw is equipped with 33 rows of LED lights inside a system of a physics engine. The installation is both an art and a public interaction that invites people to hop up and down to light up Federation Square in the city of Melbourne. The facial expressions on everyone who rides this light-blasting seesaw are of pure joy, and there's no differentiation between the younger children and 'mature' adults. A Tilt of Light by ENESS will be bringing more joy and light to Federation Square up until July 1. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Led-illuminated Seesaws:** LED technology integrated into interactive installations - **Public Interactive Art:** Art installations that invite public participation and engagement - **Childhood Nostalgia:** Designs that evoke memories of childhood play ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** Opportunity to create innovative interactive installations for public spaces - **Entertainment:** Revitalizing traditional playground equipment with technology-driven experiences - **Tourism and Events:** Enhancing public spaces with interactive installations to attract visitors and create memorable experiences ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Rotating Solar Powered Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eness-1.md) - [Inflatable Vibrant Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer.md) - [Intricate Lighting Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-of-common-interest1.md) - [Unique Interactive Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-aurora.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Suspended Lighting Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lighting-installation.md) - [Generational-Lasting Dynamic Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mike-hewson-2.md) - [Futuristic Glowing Playgrounds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joya-1.md) - [Accessibility-Enhancing Public Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/isometric-studio.md)
