Costing less than one cent to operate per day, the 'Geizeer' incorporates [ice packs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freezill-soft-cooler) rather than traditional cooling units to blow cold air into an environment. Available now for preorder on [Kickstarter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/semiconductor-cooled-portable), the 'Geizeer' is the design work of Italian architects Ferdinando Petrella and Damiano Iannini as a means to cool in an eco-friendly way. Ideal for bedrooms, office spaces or even apartments, the 'Geizeer' energy-efficient air conditioner is a revolutionary way to keep cool when intense heat is present. It works by having the internal fan suck air into the unit, allow it to cool by being passed by the ice pack and finally being released back into the environment, cooler than ever. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.8/10 - Popularity: 98% | Activity: 99% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Ice-powered Air Conditioners:** The use of ice packs as a cooling agent in air conditioners is a trend that is revolutionizing the industry by drastically reducing energy wastage. - **Eco-friendly Cooling Solutions:** The 'Geizeer' is a product that showcases the trend towards energy-efficient and eco-friendly cooling solutions. - **Affordable Cooling Options:** The 'Geizeer' air conditioner is a disruptive innovation, offering an affordable and sustainable alternative to traditional AC units. ### Where This Applies - **Air Conditioning Industry:** The air conditioning industry can benefit from incorporating ice pack technology into their products to meet the growing demand for energy-efficient solutions. - **Architecture and Interior Design:** Architects and interior designers have an opportunity to incorporate eco-friendly cooling solutions like the 'Geizeer' into their designs for homes, offices, and commercial spaces. - **Sustainability and Renewable Energy:** The 'Geizeer' air conditioner aligns with the trend towards sustainability and renewable energy by providing an affordable and eco-friendly cooling alternative. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Personal Peltier Effect Coolers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/semiconductor-cooled-portable.md) - [Low-Power Outdoor AC Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-kinoko-kensho.md) - [Powerful Portable Air Conditioners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecoflow-wave.md) - [Consummately Compact Air Conditioners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-air-conditioner.md) - [Crowdfunded Portable Air Conditioners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penclab.md) - [Energy-Saving Air Conditioners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/energysaving-air-conditioner.md) - [Ultra-Quiet Portable AC Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nitecore-portable-air-conditioner.md) - [Efficient Air Conditioning Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hyperganic.md) - [Freestanding Portable AC Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecoflow-wave-3.md)
