According to the home interior design website, Houzz, Cohen's initiative has cost him nearly $40,000. The home also includes a [home office for Cohen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergo-purrch). To make it even friendlier, Cohen has constructed a tight rope for cats to amuse themselves with. Speaking about his sheltering initiative, Endearing Feline Homes, Cohen commented, “I thought maybe the cats would just look at [the tightrope], but they use it all. It’s like a freeway sometimes with them all over the place.” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Feline-oriented Home Makeovers:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Opportunity to create specialized home renovation services that cater to pet owners, designing homes that provide the ultimate playground for cats. - **Rescue and Adoption Initiatives:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Opportunity to develop innovative programs and services that encourage the rescue and adoption of abandoned cats, inspired by Peter Cohen's initiative. - **Pet-friendly Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Opportunity to create interior design solutions that seamlessly integrate pet-friendly elements into homes, ensuring the comfort and entertainment of both cats and their owners. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture and Home Renovation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: The architecture and home renovation industry can explore new ways to embrace pet-friendly designs, offering specialized services and products for cat owners. - **Animal Rescue and Welfare:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Animal rescue organizations can take inspiration from Peter Cohen's project to develop innovative strategies for rescuing and finding homes for abandoned cats. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Interior design professionals can leverage the pet-friendly design trend to create innovative solutions that enhance the well-being of pets and create harmonious living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Vertical Feline Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-tree-house-2.md) - [Cat-Catered Large Japanese Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-cat-tree-house.md) - [Feline-Focused Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-tree-house-1.md) - [Cityscape-Like Cat Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mocats.md) - [Contemporary Cat Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/Cat-Furniture-1.md) - [Pet-Catered Sleek Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/papuk.md) - [Cat-Focused Wooden Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tristy-of-the-cats.md) - [Functional Furniture Cat Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/donarturo-cuba-cat-house.md) - [Cat-Friendly Seat Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jingcyuan-tang.md)
