The original pool was created along with another 200 similar facilities in France during the 1970s. Titled 'Tournesol,' the swimming pool was redesigned in order to accommodate more swimmers in a less cramped space. The new space eliminated the old changerooms, which were located on the perimeter. In its place there were two new pools installed as well as a building extension to house the changerooms and offices. The enclosed pool sustained much of the [heritage and original architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immeuble-molitor), including the vast natural light that was allowed in by large windows.
