Nick Cave’s background is in fiber, textiles and modern dance. He’s the creator of ‘soundsuits,’ a type of moving sculptural garment designed for use in dance and performance art. These fabulous garments are largely made of found and throw-away objects skillfully assembled into a wearable costume. They are lavish, strange, fabulously-crafted outfits that draw from ceremonial dress, fabulous beauty-queen gowns, clergy vestments, film alien costumes, and carnival personas.
