# Emo Singer Parodies Electronic Wuss Restyles Owl City's 'Fireflies' By Allison Love | Published 2010-05-18 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emo-singer-parodies References: [theawesomer](http://theawesomer.com/video-electronic-wuss/40079/) & [youtube](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyasBBoQqCA&feature=player_embedded) Electronic Wuss has made hilarious emo singer parodies before, but his rendition of Owl City's song 'Fireflies' definitely takes the cake. The parody makes fun of the bedroom scene of the Owl City song and all of the [childhood toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wicked-movie) he seems to have lying around in his room. Of course, there is mention of emo behavior but there are further comments on the randomness of word choices in a lot of emo, and songs in general, these days. "A cloud pooped out a rainbow turd," for example. I mean c'mon, that's just hilarious and completes the perfection of these emo singer parodies. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 1% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Humor](https://www.trendhunter.com/humor) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Emo Singer Parodies:** Opportunity for creative online content creators to generate humorous parodies that mock the emo music genre and its style. - **Bedroom Scene Parodies:** Opportunity for comedians and video creators to produce entertaining parodies that mock the clichés and absurdity of bedroom scenes in music videos. - **Random Word Choices:** Opportunity for songwriters and artists to explore unconventional and humorous word choices in their lyrics, appealing to a niche audience that appreciates clever wordplay. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Online Content Creation:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for online platforms and content creators to produce viral emo singer parodies that cater to the humor and satire-loving audience. - **Comedy and Entertainment:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for comedians and entertainers to create entertaining parodies of popular music, specifically targeting bedroom scenes and emo music genres. - **Music and Songwriting:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for musicians and songwriters to experiment with unconventional word choices and humorous lyrics to create unique and engaging songs that stand out in the industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Personalized Video Cards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/video-cards.md) - [Tissue Box Record Sleeves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fall-out-boy-album.md) - [Personalized AI Emojis](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emojifyer-ai.md) - [Ai Sound Effect Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adobe-firefly-1.md) - [Electronic Plush Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/furblet-mini-toys.md) - [Catchy Basked Pasta Ads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/noodles-cos-chicken-parmesan.md) - [Emotive Song Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sos-songs-mental-unimed.md) - [Holiday Diss Tracks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-rizzler.md) - [Reimagined Pop-Culture Music Genres](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whole-new-sound.md)
