While not given the prettiest name, the Emergency Terminal contrasts its use as an emergency building that offers healthcare, medical supply and laboratories with its [translucent and glowing exterior](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flickering-peak). The result is a cool combination of simple, beautiful architecture and useful services. Good to see that design doesn't need to be compromised for usefulness. **Implications** - The [healthcare building](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oakv-clinic) is 14,000 m2 in surface area and can hold up to two million citizens! The building looks very futuristic on the inside and features a multi-level parking garage for ambulances and patient beds in wide open spaces. There is a lot of [natural light that shines through](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paviljong-rosendal), which will put both workers and patients in a good mood. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Translucent Architecture:** Opportunity for architectural firms to create innovative designs by incorporating translucent materials in healthcare buildings. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Healthcare:** Potential for healthcare industry to adopt translucent architecture to create visually appealing and functional hospitals and medical facilities. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Futuristic Hospital Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jawaher-boston-medical-district.md) - [Textured Glass Landmarks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/helsinki-design-and-architecture-museum.md) - [Humanized Waiting Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/de-wachtkamer.md) - [Acrylic Glass Cubic Clinics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/t72-dental-clinic.md) - [LED-Wrapped Airport Renovations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pragues-airport.md) - [Curved Translucent Experimental Apartments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptors-apartment.md) - [Textural Red Concrete Clinics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clinic-in-anif.md) - [Residential-Reflective Tranquil Clinics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aloop-clinic.md) - [Therapeutic Architecture Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heartland-whole-health-institute.md)
